Monday – practise spelling list which is copied down each Monday morning into small yellow book. Practise spellings throughout the week for a test on Friday.
Spelling books need to be brought to school on a Monday and .

1. Tuesday – maths.
2. Wednesday – reading.
3. Thursday – literacy.
4. Friday – reading.

This may vary slightly week by week.
Homework packets need to be returned to the white plastic box on Tuesdays and Thursdays ready for the next piece of work.

Children will bring their reading packet home each night. As soon as they have read a book at home or at school they need to write about it in the green reading record book.

Ideas of what to write are in the front or the record book.They can then change the book in the library themselves.Their book needs to be brought back to schooleach day whether it is finished or not.

Good work and behaviour is rewarded by stickers. When each chart is full they receive a certificate. Each day one child will be ‘The star of the day.’ They receive a sticker and on Friday there will be a ‘Star of the week.

PE

• Monday –(inside) shorts and Tshirt/leotard
• Thursday-(outside when fine) shorts and Tshirt + trousers and top when cold, and trainers.

We will be covering the following topics throughout the year. It would be very useful if the children would like to bring any books etc. that they have at home to show during the topic.

Science   

• Autumn term: Earth in Space
• Spring Term: Grouping and classifying materials, properties of materials and changingand separating materials.
• Summer Term: Forces and motion and life processes of plants.
                                            

History

• Autumn term: Invaders and settlers(Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings

Geography

• Spring term – The weather and water issues/conservation.
  
• Summer term – Barnsley and Gawber.
